With this building due for demolition, it was important to prevent nesting.
This building is perfect territory for Peregrines and so with demolition planned, it was imperative that Peregrines weren't allowed to nest.
All birds are protected in the UK and quite rightly. The humane thing to do is to prevent nesting in the first place and thus prevent disruption to an expensive demolition process.
With all safety checks carried out, we installed netting to this lofty tower and although it's not what you'd exactly call a permanent solution it will certainly last long enough for the demolition work to proceed.
